After breakfast we strolled through the Giardino Ducale towards the Parma Cathedral.
The cathedral was decorated with 15th century frescoes by Correggio. The ceiling fresco by Correggio is considered a Renaissance masterpiece. We also toured the Baptistery and San Giovanni Evangelista.
After a harrowing trek over the fog shrouded Maritime Alps, we finally reached Pisa.

| Yes, Bill had to do the pose |
From Pisa we traveled to Viareggio where we had booked our stay at the Best Western Grand Hotel Royal, a 5 star resort hotel. They upgraded our rooms to a sea view with a balcony. Very nice.
We ended the evening with a birthday celebration for Tom at Restaurante da Luka. We had an excellent Italian Tuscany style dinner. Tom was in seventh heaven when the waiter brought out a dish that his Grandmother used to prepare for him as a child. Who could have planned this?

Again, just beautiful. I'm with Bill, I would have to do the "hold the tower up" pic as well. Was the picture in the fog taken from a plane, if so, only alcohol and Ativan would have gotten me through that flight!!!! Lol So glad your eating well (Tom Lee is planning White Castles for the Quarterly Meeting - lucky us - be glad your overseas Tom)!!! So glad you and Lisa are having a wonderful time. Sharon
ReplyDeleteIs there a picture of tk at the hotel, hiding under the covers, because you were visiting a tower that wasnt plum, level and square? Did you have to coax him out with whiskey?
